Jamar Technologies RAC Geo II DMI GPS-Based Distance Measurer
Description
Jamar Technologies RAC Geo II DMI GPS-Based Distance Measurer with Vehicle Kit and Magnetic Sensor
The RAC Geo II uses an internal GPS receiver to track vehicle movement and provides distance measurements with no external distance sensor needed! To use, simply plug the device into your vehicle's 12-volt power outlet. No under-hood wiring or calibration is required, and the portable device can be easily moved from vehicle to vehicle. Measurement accuracy is approximately 5 feet per mile with the internal GPS sensor (1 foot per mile if using external sensor). Because the RAC Geo II uses a GPS receiver to track the distance traveled, the device also provides GPS coordinates for mapping, highway and sign inventory, and more. The RAC Geo II features a rugged, high-impact ABS plastic housing (7.8”W x 2.3”H x 1.2”D) and dual 6-digit LED display windows with four brightness levels. Other features include menu-driven commands, count up/down or add/subtract distance functions from current display, count and display hold functions, and distance conversion from feet to miles to kilometers. Includes RAC Geo II instrument, mounting brackets, auto adapter power supply, external GPS antenna, and user manual.

- How does the external antenna hook up to the unit and how and where is it mounted on the vehicle ?
- Thank you for your question regarding the Jamar Technologies RAC Geo II DMI GPS-Based Distance Measurer (Item #1212). The external GPS antenna connects directly to the top of the RAC Geo II unit. The antenna cable screws into the antenna port on the top of the instrument to create the connection. Once connected, the antenna is typically routed to the roof of the vehicle. The antenna has a magnetic base, so it mounts directly to the metal roof of the vehicle where it can maintain a clear view of the sky for the best GPS reception. For best results, the antenna is usually placed near the center of the vehicle roof and the cable is routed through a door or window opening and connected to the unit inside the vehicle.
